We  have only had 2 blizzards since the 1940’s and they think this might be the third.  The snow has mounted up and is now swirling around.  The sheep and chickens are snug in the barn and the house is warm and cozy.

Shorty soaking up the suns rays the day before the storm

I have been wanting to watch John Adams  on Amazon for some time now, but decided on this snowy day it would be a good time to do it.  I started  looking back on my Fathers family.  I have gotten to my 11th Great Grandfather who lived in Yorkshire, England in the 1500’s..  My 9th Great Grandfather came over to the Plymouth Colony in 1643.  Our family has fought for our freedom and the freedom of others in every war and one fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill and went on to the Battle of Harlem Heights where he was killed.

I believe that times in our country are bad with people who say they care about the people but only care about themselves and greed.  Some things that have been done thus far seem treasonous to me.  But it still goes on.  Others say they are religious leaders but don’t show it at all .   Others show disdain for the Constitution , they may have never read it and therefore do not know the history of it.  This all saddens me so I looked up the definition for Patriot and it is as follows.

A person who loves , supports and defends his or her country and  its interests with devotion.

A person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights against presumed

interference by the federal government.

I do hope that the hatred and evilness will stop and we can return to a reasonable way of life with freedom for all.

Last Sunday I went to Sheep and Shawl in South Deerfield to learn from Kathern Johnson about Naailbinding.  She gave a  very interesting presentation about it.    It is an ancient way of making things with thread or grasses.  Some ancient artifacts have been discovered in a cave that were dated back to 6500BC.  It is also called Yarn Looping.  It is a bit like crochet and uses a single needle (often hand carved)    There was a recent article in fiberuary where you can read more.  I am taking a class to learn this technique March 19th so will have more information about how it is done.

I decided to start some seeds this year so Far I have HOT peppers to make my arthritis salve with and some Basil.  So afar only Basil has come up.

Hope you have a wonderful day, many thanks for reading my blog.  Carole
